About Kim’s A-Counting

Who we are

 

Kim's A-Counting was established by Kim Miles in 2011 to assist with the shortage of quality bookkeeping and accounting solutions in south east Queensland. Now a family business, Kim’s A-Counting provides cost effective bookkeeping services whilst achieving the highest level of quality.

We use all major accounting software packages, and offer onsite or convenient offsite bookkeeping solutions for sole traders, businesses and not for profits.

We tailor our services to meet the demand and the budget of your business no matter if you are well established and need us on a daily or weekly basis, or if you are just starting out and only need us on an as required basis. 

As registered BAS Agents, we are required to complete CPE (continuing professional education) hours to maintain our registration. From the 1st of July 2022, that number is increasing from 45 hours to 90 hours over 3 years. We maintain our knowledge and skills so we can guarantee that each of our clients receives efficient and effective service that gives the best value for money and more.

Kim Miles

Head of Accounts / Managing Director

I have always LOVED numbers!! It is something you either love or hate… not a lot of in between. I completed my Cert IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping as an employee in 2008/2009 when BAS Agents became part of the Tax Practitioners Board. After gaining experience and wanting to challenge myself further I decided to start Kim’s A-Counting.

Having worked with MYOB for a very long time it was a natural progression to become a Certified Consultant and share my love of the product with others. I became a Certified Consultant in 2011 and have never looked back.

I am fortunate to have clients that started with me, still with me…. and when you love your job it isn’t work at all.

I have volunteered at our local Football Club for 20 years and any other spare time I get is shared with my family – in particular my grand babies.

I am:

  • A Registered BAS Agent and BAS Service Provider

  • A member of the ICB (Institute of Certified Bookkeepers) and ABN (Australian Bookkeeping Network)

  • A Certified MYOB Consultant and Gold Partner

  • A Xero Certified Advisor

  • Proficient in all software packages – all MYOB platforms (Essentials, AccountEdge, AccountRight), Xero, Quickbooks, Reckon

  • Experienced across many industries for over 30 years

MYOB Business & Payroll Certified

Kim Miles is MYOB Business Certified and MYOB Business Payroll Certified. Earners of the MYOB Business Certified Badge have a fundamental understanding of the MYOB Business product and it's application for Small Businesses. Earners of the Business Payroll Certified badge have a fundamental understanding of the setting up and processing of payroll using the MYOB Business product and it's application for Small Businesses in Australia.

 
 

Nicola Thew

Nicola's first full time job was in accounts for a major building company when she was 18 where she worked her way up to the Assistant Accountant role. After nine years full time she moved to a part time role as the Payroll Administrator. She then resigned three years later, after the arrival of her second child.

During her part time work, Nicola was able to volunteer and assist with the bookkeeping at the local soccer club and found a new direction. 

In 2020 Nicola received her qualifications in Accounting and Bookkeeping and on the 30th of November 2021 she became a registered BAS agent.

Nicola is proficient in both MYOB and Xero, however she will happily wear the Team Blue hat for the Kim's A-Counting Team!

She has been the school P&C Treasurer for six years now, and if she's not working or fundraising, she will be off in her camper with husband Lincoln and their three children.

 
 

Stephanie Miles

Stephanie has spent the last 14 years in administrative support roles starting as an office Receptionist in a small manufacturing company working her way up to an Executive Assistant to a high ranking State Politician. 

In 2019, Stephanie had her first child and began part-time contracting work to small businesses which includes Kim's A-Counting.

Stephanie is responsible for data entry, office administration and social media.
